Biography
A young composer who
is being increasingly recognized across North America for music of
artistry and energy, depth and delight, Benjamin Taylor has written works
for nearly all genres. His music has been heard in concert halls,
churches and rock clubs, on radio and television, performed by ensembles
such as the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, San Francisco Choral Artists,
Princeton Singers, and the Wild Harrys.
Born in Kyoto, Japan,
Benjamin Taylor spent the majority of his formative years in Santa Rosa,
CA. He has served as Composer-in-residence of the Sonoma
County Chamber Singers. In addition to this appointment, the
composer enjoys regular performances across North
America.
Benjamin also pursues
an interest in conducting. He is Music Director of the Albany
Community Chorus (Albany, CA) and the Unitarian-Universalist Congregation of Santa Rosa. He is also Cover Conductor for the Santa Rosa Symphony's Preparatory and
Discovery Orchestras, and he has enjoyed guest
engagements with other fine ensembles.
Benjamin lives in Santa Rosa, CA,with his beautiful wife, Cat.
